Summary of Significant Water Management Issues

(Responses due by 24 January 2008)

This is our second River Basin Planning consultation under the Water Framework Directive.

The first consultation was Working Together, where we sought to engage with other interested parties, and discover what links we need to develop with other plans and strategies.

This consultation sets out what we believe are the most significant issues that face each River Basin District in England and Wales. These issues are raised early in the process to give you time to consider how best to address them. The information and proposals may affect you, your environmental interests or your business, and we want to know what you think.

The links on the left will take you to our e-consultation site where you can download the consultation and supporting document for your River Basin District and respond online. The e-consultation system also allows you to make your comments public, and see others' comments before posting your own. The consultation will be open until 24 January 2008.

Flooding
Managing flooding is important in many River Basin Districts, and this is dealt with in more detail as part of the Catchment Flood Management planning process. If you would like to speak to us about flooding please email enquiries@environment-agency.gov.uk or call 08708 506506.
