Consultations
We are trying to take more account of people’s views when we make policy, and other, decisions. We endeavour to consult in a way that helps you to help us, bearing in mind that your contributions can improve, even transform, initiatives on which we embark.
In the case of national consultations, a Cabinet Office Code of Good Practice helps guide us on how to consult openly, inclusively and responsively. Many of the principles in this Code are equally applicable to local consultations, many of which are featured here alongside national consultations.
We try to be prompt in making public any decisions resulting from consultations, making final documents accessible and also, where possible, a summary of the main views commonly expressed, with feedback. These response documents can be viewed here, as well as current and closed consultation documents.
- Current consultations
Consultations in which you currently have an opportunity to participate. You will be asked to e-mail or post your response, which will either consist of comments on a document, or a completed questionnaire, to a named point of contact, either within the Environment Agency, or a contracted organisation. - Closed consultations
Holding page for consultations that have reached their closing date for contributions, but where we have yet to publish any decisions resulting from the consultation. - Consultations with responses
Closed consultations where final documents or decisions resulting from the consultation have been published. - Consultations on draft decisions on PPC permits
We hold consultations on our draft decisions on whether to issue an PPC permit to a particular business site. We do this in accordance with the Public Participation Directive. - Environmental Assessment of our Plans, Programmes and Projects
