Water Resources Situation Reports
Our monthly Water Situation Reports, based on our data, Met. Office data and water company data, provide information on rainfall, soil moisture deficit, river flows, groundwater levels and reservoir storage.
We are currently producing the Monthly Water Situation Report and a Weekly Rainfall and River Flow Summary. We ceased Weekly Water Situation Reporting in March 2007 due to the improvement in the national water situation. Back copies of the Weekly Water Situation Report are available on request.

October was the eighth consecutive month across England and Wales with above average rainfall. - Soil Moisture Deficit
Soil moisture deficits (SMD) decreased in all our regions during October. - River Flows
Monthly mean flows for October were higher than normal for the time of year at the majority of indicator sites. - Groundwater Levels
Groundwater levels decreased at half of the updated indicator sites during October, most of these being in the chalk of eastern and southern England. - Reservoir Storage
Reservoir stocks increased in our North West and North East Regions but decreased in our Southern Region. - Hydroecology: the water needs of the environment
