Flood Map

In October 2004 the Environment Agency published a new, online flood map that provides the most comprehensive picture of flood risk. The Flood Map shows the floodplain for England and Wales - areas that could flood from rivers or the sea. It lets businesses know whether they are at risk, what they can do about it and how the Environment Agency can help.

The Flood Map uses the most technically advanced models and data gathered over many years and is the best map currently available. It looks like a road atlas and is easy to use, showing areas at risk of flooding coloured dark blue and areas at risk in the event of an extreme flood coloured light blue. By clicking on the 'Learn More' button, businesses can also get a guide to the level of risk - low, moderate or significant - in their area.
