Paddle and Rymer Weirs Health & Safety Package Phase 1 - scoping report

For Radcot, Northmoor, Mapledurham, Molesey and Blakes Weirs.

We published our draft Scoping Consultation Document (SCD) in July 2009, which outlined our appraisal of the key environmental issues identified for the project and that would require assessment as part of the development of the detailed design.

Following closure of the consultation period in August 2009, we have reviewed all of the comments received and taken them into consideration in the completion of the outline design.

The comments received, and how they are planned to be addressed are recorded in the final Scoping Report and associated appendices. This has been formed by updating and revising the draft SCD in light of the consultation. This document is published only for information, and we are not inviting further comments at this stage.

We are now progressing with the detailed design of the replacement weirs and undertaking the environmental assessment in parallel with the design development. This process will be completed by Christmas 2009, and we plan to run a further consultation on the draft Environmental Report in the new year.
