National Environment Assessment Service (NEAS)

NEAS is a dedicated national team of around 60 environmental Project Managers, Archaeologists and Landscape Architects helping to prevent flooding and to create a better place.

NEAS are part of integrated project teams that develop long term flood risk and coastal management strategies and building schemes to implement these strategic solutions. Their specific role is to assess and manage the major environmental risks and opportunities involved in these strategies and schemes.

The Environment Agency’s continuing programme of £multi-million flood and coastal works mean we are often seeking to strengthen our teams with experienced professionals in statutory Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) processes. The challenge is to ensure our flood risk management strategies and schemes have minimal environmental impact, meet regulatory standards, maintain high quality design, and contribute to national and regional outcomes.

If you have significant levels of experience in managing EIA and SEA on major projects ideally related to water management and are interested in joining us, please send us your CV by email stating where you’d be interested in working.

More information about NEAS and our locations can be found in our careers booklet (PDF, 479kb).

We will keep your details on file for six months from the date you submit your CV, passing your information to recruiting managers as and when vacancies arise. When a relevant vacancy arises, we’ll be in touch to see if you’re still interested in joining us. All CVs will be treated in strictest confidence.
