Trent Vale Landscape Partnership

A three-year scheme to conserve, enhance and celebrate the cultural identity of the Trent Vale between Newark and Gainsborough:

  • Test and Itchen River Restoration Strategy

The Rivers Test and Itchen in Hampshire are two of the best examples of chalk rivers in England. They support a rich community of plant and wildlife species, and are famous for their trout and salmon fishing.

  • Quarry Bank – Fish pass and hydropower partnership project

The Environment Agency is working in partnership with the National Trust at Quarry Bank Mill in Styal, Cheshire, where a fish and eel pass will be built in conjunction with a Kaplan turbine hydropower scheme.

  • Restoring the River Camel, Cornwall

The River Camel - including the Allen, De Lank, Ruthern and Clerkenwater tributaries - is a nationally and internationally important river, of particular value for its populations of otters, Atlantic salmon, bullhead, and sea lamprey.

  • The River Frome Rehabilitation Plan

The River Frome from Dorchester to Wareham is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) due to the important chalk river and lowland, low gradient river habitats it supports.

  • Floodplain Meadows Partnership

This project aims to maintain long-term monitoring of rare, species-rich floodplain meadows across the UK, answer priority research questions, and encourage restoration and creation of new floodplain meadows.

  • Restoration of the Hampshire Avon

The River Avon is renowned as one of the world’s ecologically rare chalk rivers, but river modification has reduced the diversity of habitats and widlife. This project is dedicated to restoring the River Avon.

  • River Wensum restoration project

The River Wensum is a nationally and internationally important chalk river. This project will help restore the river and return the River Wensum Site of Special Scientific Interest to a good ecological condition.

  • Itchen Navigation Project

We have contributed £400,000 to an exciting £2 million project in Hampshire. This will restore the historic towpath along the Itchen Navigation from Winchester to Southampton and create a better place for people and wildlife.

  • Meon Valley Partnership

We are part of The Meon Valley Partnership which aims to work together, and with others, to protect and enhance the environment in the Meon Valley.

  • Mersey Life Project

Our Mersey Life Project will restore the River Mersey to create a better place for people and wildlife.

  • New Forest Non-Native Plants Project

Our New Forest Non-Native Plants Project will help restore the New Forest and create a better place for people and wildlife.

  • New Forest River Restoration Project

Our New Forest River Restoration Project will help restore the New Forest and create a better place for people and wildlife.
