What to do if you see fish in trouble

To report fish in trouble please call our incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60 (Freephone*, 24 hour service). You should not use e-mail to report an incident, as this could delay our response.    *Calls from mobile phones are not free and will be charged at normal network operator's call rates.

Whether you're an angler or a fisheries owner, if you see fish that are:

  • gulping for air
  • swimming very slowly in large groups
  • staying in one place near the surface
  • floating on the surface

then report it on: 0800 80 70 60

Drought advice

We have plans in place accross the country to help out fisheries affected by drought. This includes advising fisheries owners on the best way to avoid problems, and by physically helping to save fish in an emergency.
