Our flood warning widget allows you to embed our live Flood Warnings onto a page on your website.
The ‘widget’ is code that website developers can embed into their website. The ‘widget’ shows the latest summary of flood alerts and warnings.

Technical details
- You must be a website administrator, and have access to change the HTML/templates on your website, to use this.
- If you are unsure how to add this to your site, please contact your website administrator in the first instance.
- You will need to ensure the section where you add this code is at least 180px wide by 400px high.
- It will sit best within a left/right side panel of your website.
- The widget uses "http-equiv=refresh" to update the content every 10 minutes.
- The refresh command means that the Environment Agency web page is reloaded every 10 minutes, Not your own website.
- The Flood Widget uses data from the Environment Agency Flood Warning Information System 'FWIS'. Users of the Flood widget should be aware that if the FWIS service is unavailable due to scheduled maintenance or service interruption (however caused) this would result in a temporary loss of the data for this service during this period of downtime.

Google Chrome Widget
The Google Chrome Widget was developed to allow quick and easy access to live flood warnings in force across England and Wales from a web browser. Google Chrome users can go to the Google Web Store and type in 'flood warning' to download the Flood Warning 'App'. Users can also add the 'Flood Warning Extension' which provides a widget in the browser tool bar. These services provide two new channels for people at flood risk to access flood warning information from the Environment Agency.
