Marine environment

We have a wide remit in the coastal and marine environment.

Our regulatory duties span land and sea, and range from promoting recreation to managing flood risk and controlling pollution. Our wide remit puts us in a unique position to encourage better protection of our coasts and seas. We are already doing this by working closely with businesses, local communities, other regulators and partner organisations.

We have a broad range of duties to protect and improve coastal and inland waters.
