How we help others to adapt

The Environment Agency is one of the principal delivery bodies for Governments tackling climate change.

We work closely with Governments, businesses, the research community and others to understand the impacts of climate change in England and Wales and to increase our resilience to these changes.

Our core role means we work closely with organisations that have key roles in protecting the natural environment and influencing the built environment such as local authorities, Natural England and the Countryside Council for Wales (CCW).

As part of our role we provide advice, guidance and evidence on climate change adaptation, for example to ensure that plans for critical infrastructure and essential services address climate change risks, and new habitats are created that allow wildlife to adapt to climate change. We also work with businesses to help them develop and implement adaptation action plans to increase resilience in the economy.

New Service
