Regulation

Salmon and sea trout are caught using a range of nets and traps. These include compass nets, haaf nets, draft nets, hand nets, trammel / whammel nets, wade nets (including lave and dip nets), coracle nets, T&J nets, drift nets, gill nets, seine nets and putcher racks and other 'fixed engines'.

We regulate these fisheries using a combination of fishing licences, Net Limitation Orders and fisheries byelaws.
