What is the purpose of this exemption?
To allow landscapers and farmers to spread mulch as a protective covering onto land around trees, bushes, or plants.
What types of activities can I do?
You can spread wood chips made from waste as a mulch, for example, for the following purposes:
- to conserve soil moisture;
- to moderate soil temperature;
- to control the growth of weeds;
- to provide organic matter as the mulch breaks down.
