What is the purpose of this exemption?
This exemption is to allow waste to be sorted, repaired or refurbished where possible for reuse and, where this is not possible, to be sorted and dismantled for recovery.
What types of activities can I do?
Example activities are:
- A charity collects discarded furniture, bicycles and garden tools in order to repair or refurbish them for reuse.
- A company collects mattresses to dismantle them to recover the constituent parts.
