Other categories of waste exemption

Exemptions registered by other authorities

There are a further three treatment exemptions which are registered by other authorities. These are listed below. T3 and T7 should be registered with the local authority where the operator has its principle place of business. If this is outside England and Wales, it should be the local authority where the operation will be carried out.

T22 should be registered by the authority responsible for granting an authorisation under the Animal By-products Regulations.

  • T3 - Treatment of waste metals and metal alloys by heating for the purposes of removing grease etc
  • T7 - Treatment of waste bricks, tiles and concrete by crushing, grinding or reducing in size
  • T22 - Treatment of animal by-product waste at a collection centre
