We are trying to take more account of people's views when we make policy, and other, decisions. We aim to consult in a way that helps you to help us, bearing in mind that your contributions can improve, even transform, initiatives on which we embark.
In the case of national consultations, a Cabinet Office Code of Good Practice helps guide us on how to consult openly, inclusively and responsively. Many of the principles in this Code are equally applicable to local consultations, many of which are featured here alongside national consultations.
We try to be prompt in making public any decisions resulting from consultations, making final documents accessible and also, where possible, a summary of the main views commonly expressed, with feedback. These response documents can be viewed here, as well as current and closed consultation documents.
