Your waste responsibilities

  • Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2011
    These new regulations were introduced in March 2011 and will affect all waste producers and managers, including local authorities.

  • Duty of Care
    Applies to everyone involved in handling the waste. Get advice about giving your waste to other people.
     
  • Waste packaging & producer responsibility
    Producer Responsibility laws require businesses to reuse, recover and recycle waste which comes from products they produce. 
     
  • Mobile treatment permitting
    Companies that clean up or 'remediate' previously-used land, so it can be safely used again, need an environmental permit. 
     
  • Recycling overseas
    If your company is involved in the waste export business or international shipping you need to understand the legal framework relating to the export of wastes.
     
  • Waste directives
