This page provides information relevant for Agents in CRC.
Agents can act on behalf of one or more participants to carry out the day to day running of a CRC registration. However, agents cannot assume responsibility for complying with the requirements of CRC.
A participant and the group of which it is a part (if applicable) remains responsible for compliance and will be liable for any penalties if the agent does not comply.
Any individual can register as an agent for the CRC. The administrator does not check the credentials or competency of the individual making the application. It is the responsibility of the organisation that employs the agent to check that they are fit to fulfil the agreed role.
An agent will be able to undertake the same activities as the person/role (e.g. primary contact) on whose behalf they are appointed.
As such an agent appointed to act on behalf of someone who is a primary or secondary contact will be able to:
- submit Footprint and Annual Reports;
- notify of a designated change;
- notify a change in Climate Change Agreements (CCA) status;
- change Significant Group Undertakings (SGU) details;
- change primary member/compliance account holder details;
An agent appointed to act on behalf of someone who is an account representative will be able to do all of the above and also:
- order, transfer and surrender allowances as appropriate.
