Example EPR applications for intensive farming

The example is based on an application for a broiler farm but it is relevant for other livestock too.

Please note – any reference in the following documents to the Pollution Prevention and Control Regulations should now be replaced with Environmental Permitting Regulations 2010. Any requirement relating to permitting under those Regulations has now been replaced by new requirements under the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2010 (EPR).

There is a model permit, based on the broiler model application. This demonstrates what a permit looks like. Individual permits will vary from the one shown according to site-specific variations:

Working with the pig and poultry industries, we have developed post-application example templates for the four documents that need to be in place by the time the permit is issued. These are the accident management plan, inspection and maintenance schedule, site closure plan and manure management plan (if needed):
