ELV's - Authorised Treatment Facilities - Public Register List
A requirement of the ELV Regulations is that the last holder of any vehicle depolluted/dismantled in the following classes is issued with a Certificate of Destruction (CoD):
- passenger carrying vehicles up to 3500kg
- light goods vehicles up to 3500kg
- three-wheel motor vehicles (excluding tricycles)
A CoD can only be issued by an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF), which is defined as a Licensed facility accepting waste motor vehicles, and able to comply with the requirements of the ELV regulations. The CoD ensures that the vehicle will be treated/disposed of correctly and that it is de-registered by DVLA.
ATF's will not be given immediate automatic access to the CoD system. Once we send details to DVLA of a site with the ability to comply, DVLA will contact the licence holder of the site in question to initiate the application process which will normally result in access to the system, subject to agreement.
This list is updated monthly and sent to DVLA so that the new sites can be given access to their CoD system and removal of scrapped vehicles from their registration database is automatic.
Many sites are making improvements and when these are complete they will be added to the list and an update sent to DVLA. As from May 2008, 1428 facilities now comply with the ELV depollution requirements.
