- IPPC H1 Environmental Assessment and Appraisal of BAT
The purpose of this guidance note is to provide PPC permit applicants with a methodology to enable them to either a) conduct an options appraisal of candidate techniques to determine Best Available Techniques to control selected releases from an installation; or b) to carry out an environmental assessment of the emissions resulting from the installation as a whole to confirm that they do not cause significant pollution. This document is a Horizontal IPPC Guidance Note, that provides cross-cutting information relevant to all IPPC sectors. The purpose of the horizontal guidance is to provide supplementary information to assist applicants in responding to the energy efficiency requirements described in the IPPC Sector Guidance Notes (or the General Sector Guidance Note). - IPPC H4 – Horizontal Odour Guidance. Part 1: 'Regulation and Permitting' and Part 2: “Assessment and Control”.
This guidance outlines the main considerations relating to the regulation and permitting of odorous releases under IPPC. It is aimed primarily at the information needs of Regulators, although will potentially be of use to applicants and consultees. The guidance should be read in conjunction with the appropriate Sector Guidance Notes to determine BAT for a particular installation. Information relating to qualitative and quantitative assessment of odour and to control techniques and technologies is given in Part 2 of this Note. -
