Environmental Permitting
The Environmental Permitting (EP) Regulations came into force on 6 April 2008. These new regulations will make existing legislation more efficient by combining Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC) and Waste Management Licensing (WML) regulations.
If you already have a PPC permit or a Waste Management Licence it will automatically become an Environmental Permit from 6 April. You do not need to reapply and we will not reissue your permit. Your permit will contain the same conditions as before.
Note: Some content on our website may still refer to PPC or WML after 6 April 2008. This content will be replaced at scheduled review points and for now you should read it as EP guidance.
