RESTORE field visits
22-25 May 2013, Munich
Field visits to river restoration projects in Germany and Switzerland
Invitation to two field visits in Germany and Switzerland themed Restoration of river dynamics and continuity in heavily modified rivers.
22-23 May
Visit to the River Isar in Munich, Germany. We will see how the Isar Plan has enhanced ecological and fluvial processes and improved fish passage, whilst at the same time providing new recreational space for residents and visitors.
24-25 May
Visit to the River Rhine, Aare and Limmat in Switzerland. We will see how river processes, habitat connectivity, fish access and fish spawning opportunities have been enhanced, especially at hydropower plants.
RESTORE International conference, European river prize and ECRR international conference

The Life+ project that launched RESTORE will end in 2013. This final conference of the project together with a conference on river restoration practices will take place in September 2013.
This event will focus on how the gathering and transfer of knowledge has benefited the practical work of those involved in river restoration during the course of the project. In particular we will discuss the ways to communicate river restoration.
It will include a presentation of work, networking events, site visit and post conference report. The announcement of the first European river prize will be held in association with the conference.
